IVF & ICSI -A Closer Look
The two main treatment types during fertility treatment are IVF and ICSI. IVF and ICSI are advised for individual patients according to their investigations and history.
For 2016, 121 ICSI cycles took place followed by an embryo transfer, where the patients’ own eggs were used. This accounts for 38.2% of cycles (121/317). Information on split cycles (where some eggs are used with IVF and others with ICSI), is not included in the following table. Split cycles counted for 3.1% of all cycles for 2016 (patients’ own eggs and embryo transfer taking place).
For 2017, 119 ICSI cycles took place followed by an embryo transfer, with the patients’ own eggs being used. This accounts for 38.1% of cycles (119/312. Information on split cycles is not included.
